What we collect
We collect an email address when you request access to a gated film or explicitly join an announcement list. A first name or alias is optional. Screening alerts may also accept an optional phone number when you separately consent to SMS. Contact and story forms collect the details you choose to send.
Why we collect it
We use this information to grant film access, send communications you requested, answer inquiries, understand aggregate viewing activity, protect forms from abuse, and operate the site.
Film access and marketing
Requesting access to a film does not enroll you in marketing email. Marketing consent is a separate, unchecked choice. A secure browser cookie remembers access to the selected film for up to 30 days. It does not create a public profile.
Messages and sensitive stories
Free-text contact and story messages are relayed to the filmmaker by email and are not retained in the application database. Email infrastructure may process and temporarily retain those messages according to its own service policies.
Analytics and video
If configured, privacy-conscious analytics records aggregate page views and actions such as video starts and completions. Events do not contain email addresses or form text. Mux processes video delivery requests and may receive technical playback information. We do not use advertising pixels, session replay, fingerprinting, or public viewing histories.
Processors
The intended processors are Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email), Mux (video), Cloudflare Turnstile (spam prevention), and PLACEHOLDER_ANALYTICS_PROVIDER when analytics is enabled. Final processor details require review.
Retention and deletion
Access grants expire after 30 days. Subscriber and consent records are retained until they are no longer operationally necessary or deletion is requested, subject to legal obligations. Final retention periods are PLACEHOLDER_RETENTION_PERIODS. To request access, correction, or deletion, email PLACEHOLDER_PRIVACY_EMAIL.
Email and SMS choices
Every marketing email must include an unsubscribe mechanism. Reply STOP to automated SMS messages if SMS is later enabled. The initial release stores SMS preference but does not send automated promotional texts.
Cookies
The site uses essential cookies only where needed for gated viewing and spam protection. Optional analytics should be configured without cross-site advertising cookies.
